Marie Oates joins Scale Facilitation® as Global Head of Communications


Scale Facilitation® welcomes Marie Oates as the new Global Head of Communications. The Global Head of Communications role sits within the Digital Scale Facilitation pillar of Scale Facilitation® and is responsible for managing media relations and communications strategy and execution across Scale Facilitation® channels and DSF projects.

Marie is a versatile marcomms professional, having served as a marketing, communications and HR executive in higher education, healthcare, commercial, foundation and non-profit organizations. She is an expert in strategic communications and media relations (globally and nationally in the United States). She has published two books, and her writing has appeared in the NY Times, Boston Globe, Chicago Tribune and other publications.

Before joining the Scale Facilitation® team, Marie has held a variety of high-level communications roles, including serving as the US Head of Communications, Alumni and Institutional Development at IESE Business School, where she oversaw US communications, alumni programming in the US and high-profile leadership events. She also helped launch the US campus in NYC.

Before IESE Business School, she ran her own strategic communications firm, Boston PR Group, Inc. based in Boston and New York City. The firm worked with leadership at companies, biotech firms, universities and foundations to provide them with strategic communications counsel and execution for an array of projects and training.

She holds a BA from Boston College and an MS from Boston University.
